WHAT IS HAPPENING WITH BAYERN MUNCEH BASKETBALL TEAM???
Why has the FC Bayern Munich Basketball team not been able to break the losing streak? Where did the team go?
FC Bayern Munich basketball team has only won domestic championships such as being 5x German Championship, 3x German Cup, and 1x German 2nd League winners. Although they have made it to the EuroLeague Quarterfinals multiple times, they have never won this title. Why have they never been able to reach such accomplishment?
With only 9 wins so far and 15 losses, Bayern comes out with multiple injuries from their best players: Lucio Dalla, Elias Harris, Othello Hunter, and Cassius Winston. Even so, their coach, Coach Trinchieri was missing due to family problems. However, there was hope in doing well after almost beating everyone's rival, FC Barcelona. The red and white team held their own defensive line very well. It "did not feel good because we lost" but the German team looked on the bright side since they "played smartly to stay in the game until the end".
The team had no choice but to strategically play their defense in many games. Consequentially, the team's rhythm was not found on the offensive side. The team has shifted focus from the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague to the German league- as they have a better chance to be in the final four. What about their fan base? Now that the team will focus on the German league, there will be more of an opportunity for them to attend games against other German rival teams.
Will the FCBM Basketball team ever come back? It is evident the team needs to find and create chemistry between one another. Additionally, there needs to be more stability between the players. You can't always rely on the best players, especially when they can not recover fast and hurt the team more.
With the EuroLeague continuing to be big, and teams getting a new chance every season. What does Bayern need to do to get back to the top? Will the need to buy fresh new meat, or do they just have to strengthen their crew? Does Bayern have a chance to win their first EuroLeague championship... ever?

This does surprise me as the German basketball league is quite competitive. I have looked into the history of EuroLeague and it is crazy the dominance the Spanish league has, while also the top 4 teams have remainded through time. There is a huge disparity in EuroLeague basketball play and it makes it not even fun to watch as there is a limitation to who will win each year.
ReplyDeleteFC Bayern's Men's Basketball team is definitely in an interesting period right now. Clearly the need for chemistry and team building is more important than ever, however, solving that problem is easier said than done. With other EuroLeague powerhouses signing players from different countries, American leagues, and more, I think the only way for Bayern to compete is to begin signing big-name, talented players. After this, they can create a solid foundation of winning and inspire the younger generation to eventually become a part of their youth academy.
ReplyDeleteI think for the Bayern Munich basketball team to start to be competitive again they would need to make a big change in their roster or in their coaching staff. Often teams become stagnant when they underperform, and this seems to be the case for Bayern. Injuries are always hard to deal with, but signing a new, talented player could be what it takes for Bayern to start winning games again.

ReplyDeleteBayern Munich may need to sign a big name/big talent that can get them over the hump of the quarterfinals. I also don't think that it is a smart move for them to focus for the time being on the German League. They have already solidified themselves as top competitors, especially after winning that league as much as they have. They should shift towards EuroLeague and try to buy a new talent from outside of Germany.

this is interesting because the club is well known i find it facinating that they are so bad i think the strategies you described at the bottom are all good options for getting back on the horse i think either acquiring a new player that could be a star for example or maybe restructuring may be the best bet for the team to get back on the horse per say
ReplyDeleteI think its important for Bayern Munich to take a full step back to look at their management from top to bottom. Although the coach and president aren't on the floor, the players do have some blame in their struggles but its necessary that they are being lead properly. Maybe it would be beneficial to try and sign a big name to get some momentum but in my opinion at this point they need to look for a coaching change. Would you agree that a coaching change would be beneficial or do you think its more on the players?
ReplyDeleteAfter reading this article, I have found that Bayern Munich has been a very successful club in the past couple years. Every team always goes through hardships no matter what league you are in. Basketball especially with having the issues of injuries like Bayern Munich I think it is very difficult for a team to be successful when some of your best players are injured and playing in a competitive league like the EuroLeague and German League. I think with that being said, you may also need to go look farther into their management and see what you can do to fix the club as a whole.
ReplyDeleteInteresting post. I think that Bayern Munich will figure out a way to right the ship and get back to winning ways. After reading your article, it is evident that Bayern Munich has been successful in the past, and is capable of being successful again. It is hard to win when almost half of your team is injured and the coach had to step away for a bit. Comparing to my team, Lyon, they are not dealing with any injuries or coaching problems, and yet they are always at the bottom of the league standings. I think with time, Bayern Munich will improve.
